instrument pannel light

Hey guys,

This may sound like a stupid question, but I am having a difficult time replacing one of the dash bulbs in my GSL-SE. My problem is that I can't seem to pull out the instrument cluster through the opening. It seems that a plastic peice that runs along the bottom of the opening is causing the problem. This peice seems like it ties into the rest of the dash. Does anyone have a clue on how to remove the instrument cluster from a '84-'85 dash?

Thanks,
Kent

Kent,

I was able to pull the guage pod out like 2" and couldn't get it any futher. Then, someone explained that you have to disconnect the tach or the speedometer.....I forget which. Apparently, you can reach up behind the guages to disconnect it.

I am sure someone else will fill in the details.

Thanks Cody,

But for some reason I can't even get it to fit through the opening. Any ideas?
