I've just aquired a rebuilt FC tranny. never been used, but its been sitting outside for awhile and theres some surface rust on the imput shaft. Is there a way to remove the rust easy? if not is it still usable?

 

You can try using rust jelly or sanding it with some emery paper.

 

I believe vinegar also removes rust but im not sure if it would damage the shaft itself.
