After 7 years without a stone chip on either of my cars I now have a nice, big spidery crack in the windshield of my '85 GSL.

About a year ago I read a heads up somewhere about windshield replacement facilities that use cheaper, second-rate sealant that is prone to leaks.

Does anybody on here know what this stuff is so that I can avoid it? Also, how would I be able to distinguish it from the proper sealant? When I go to the glass shop I want to have all my facts straight so that nobody can pull a bait-and-switch on me.
