Depending on the price, I'd definately be interested in a set of Reverse Indiglos. I've got an 83.

Ok, well later on Im gonna make list and see how many people really want these. For those of you who asked for KM/H, I dont know if I should count you in or not. They need 20 people to pre buy the 81-83 style before they will make them. This means that they would need 20 OTHER people to buy the 81-83 style in KM/H. So that bascially limits your chances of getting them unless you can round up 20 people to have the KM/H sets made. The US sets will have KM/H on them though . I dont know what to tell you guys. Anyway, Im gonna try and make a list and see how many we have and how many people we need later.

RMD, make 2 lists; one for KPH and 1 for MPH. If one of the lists exceeds 20 emails from people saying 'if you make it, I'll buy it' that lot will get made.

Prolly end up being the same price as the 84-85 model ($69.99 & $9.00 shipping)

Ummm

You people may be interested in knowing that the 84-85 model guages sell on Ebay for $39.99 from the same company.

Their Ebay selling name is SRmotorsport or something. I was just looking at them today. Just search for "1984 RX-7" and you'll see them.

One quick question though...

Does the dimmer switch for the 84-84 dash lights ever fail? My lights in my guage pod just died.....and I dont see a specific fuse for them. I checked all my under dash fuses, and they all tested good.

Yeah, they sell them on Ebay, but only because we had them make them.

And yes, the dimmer switch can and does fail, but all the lights in the center console are on the same circuit and wouldnt work also.

Center console lights like the AC lights? clock? Radio?

Those are up and running......but my guage pod lights are gone.

Would that mean bulbs?

About the bulbs comment....

The entire pod just went black one day. I imagine there is more than one light bulb in the guage cluster.

The guages themselves are working fine.......just no lighting for it.

Tried fiddling with the dimmer switch, but still no dice....

Lights like behind the fan and temp ***** and stuff. NOT the little red lights ON the buttons when you select vent, heat, etc. The ash tray light I think is on that circuit. I dont remember if the clock is on the dimmer or not.

Well we need to know which model to shoot for I assume. As someone pointed out, the 83 gagues are different than the 81-82. So if we made a buy in for the 83 model year, it would be ONLY for those with an 83 or those with 83 clusters. So, someone (not me cause Im lazy) needs to make a list, and everyone interested needs to add to that list until we get the right amout of people to get whatever done, if that makes sense. So like if the 81-82 people get more people first, then so be it. If we get more people first, so be it. If we both get enough people, then hot damn. May the best gauges win?

~T.J.

PS - For what its worth, I have an 83 and would buy them if I still have money if and when the go into production.

For Pete's sake....I swear this freakin' Forum can get frustrating with the "someone else will do it..." crapola....Here's the freakin' list....quote this box to add your name and every subsequent person who wants to add his name just quote the latest post....

The Official "We want Manntis to do the '83 Gauge Cluster in Reverse Indiglo ASAP" List of Serious Buyers Who Will Even Commit a Small Deposit if Asked To Do So by the Illustrious Manntis wala... I don't know what comes over me sometimes...
  • Mario Aguiire III, aka., the insidious mar3

I'll do another post to cover the earlier years, so, God forbid, someone else won't be burdened.... When you quote to add your name, delete all this text under the list....Danke Schon...

Im not sure how long production takes. Its on their website though (www.streetradcerparts.com). We need enough people to commit on buying them before we can even dream of production.

Good idea Mario. So people can just say which year they want, and that theyre willing to pay.

Oooh, that makes two! No wonder Manntis and the other serious prototypers are hesistant to help us......what would it cost for a one-off, Manntis? I've got a lot of refund money heading my way and the '83 GS is going to be the nitrous sniffin' 235HP 12A UltiRex of my dreams...sparing little expense....

I also found out that if we can get 6 buyers, Brakeman will adapt a group of these wave rotors for the FB non-SE front struts for $150 apiece that includes the 4 pot calipers....half deposit required, though, before he'll take us seriously....
