yea, if you wanted a faster rotary sure, go for the tII 2nd gen, at least its a rotary, but if you just want a rotary because you like the design, first gens all the way. A timeless design with a rotary engine ftw

I have both, a 1st and a 2nd gen. They are different beasts, but then the 1st gen is highly modded, the 2nd, which is my DD, only slightly.

I love the design of the 1st gen, unique.. I would say the 2nd gen could be mistaken for something else from a distance, but not the FB hehe

I am sure that Trochoid can further upon my statement considering he owns them both, but when I was on the hunt for a second rx7, I test drove a couple FC's and to me they just felt so much heavier that I didn't like it much. They are great cars, obviously faster than FB's, but there is something in weight. I just felt so much more in touch with the car and the road in my FB that I had to buy another FB. I must say that I'm really glad I didn't go with an FC.

The heavier feel is the biggest difference I've noticed between the 2 gens also. While both of mine have lowering springs and adjustable shocks, the FC does feel heavier. Part of that comes from the weight, the difference in the suspension, but it also comes from the tires and wheels. My FC came with 14" rims, I upgraded to 16X7s. That gave it a solider feel, but also added to the heaviness.

On the widebody, going from stock wheels to the 15X7 and 15X9s that are on it now, also made the FB feel heavier. Some of that is due to the increase in unsprung weight, the other part is the tires don't break loose any where close to where it did with the stockers.

The odd part is the FB has better ride comfort, fewer rattles, than the FC, even with the full poly bushing upgradeon the FB. FC has 105k original miles, while the FB is a little past 219k.

Before I installed the body kit, tires/wheels and the other mods, the entire suspension and brake systems were upgraded as it sits now. The car was very light, nimble and darty in handling. Very fun and quite a different feel from what I have now.

Good job keeping the first gen. I personally love the first gen the most. All the 7s are great but my fiurst pick is the 1st gen.
