Well, no picture updates, but I ended up picking up a complete second Holley intake setup for this thing; this time a genuine Racing Beat unit. I got tired of trying to tune the one I had into working since it was an "off the shelf" 550 CFM and not the "Racing Beat modified" 465 CFM, and let me tell you, there is a difference. The Racing Beat unit runs SO much nicer and better, has a working choke system, etc. I can't say that an "off the shelf" 465 wouldn't run just as good, but I bought the entire intake system used for about the price of an "off the shelf" 465, so it didn't make sense to even try.

Anyway, after the carb swap, I had to address my sticking front brake caliper. I rebuilt both front brake calipers, but then the starter died when I tried to start it to take it out on a test drive. So, I got my starter warrantied and put a new one in there and was finally able to take it out for a drive again last night. Now that I have it back to "running and driving" I might address a few other things with it off and on through the summer, so this thread might keep going for a bit longer, haha

Good luck. It's always an adventure with a rx7.

Tell me about it, but it's been going well. I have taken it out for a cruise the last few sunny days. It's amazing how much better it runs, I actually enjoy driving it again. It even starts right up both cold and hot with the choke that works, idles smooth, and in general runs good. Next on the list of major things is getting the clutch replaced and the transmission swapped out with another one so I can rebuild this one. Eventually I still need to get some wheels and tires for this thing, and go through the suspension. Maybe this summer. Until then, Im just going to enjoy driving it when I can!
