Heres the sad part, I got most the parts here...

The muffler and exhaust Im getting ready to pitch in the trash can... Its not worth the time nor trouble to ship it, but anyways, its here if anyone wants it. Else I have to make room soon for other stuff.

Hang Tough T.J. Life turns on a dime! Sometimes you just have to hit rock bottom before you can start climbing out again. If I had my wish, I would have everyone donate money to a pool to help out fellow RXers, but as you can see we are all in the same boat financially. It's this economy. Goddamn Bush.

yeah, the YZF-R1 guy from the lounge might do a search, find the "lord" part, and turn this into one loooong thread...

Mike, what would it cost to send the muffler to RMD? $15? lol...just teasing...seriously, though, if it's not too much, I will volunteer to pay the shipping if you donate the muffler...

Well, let me re-phrase...I have a stock muffler with 80K miles on it, but the sound is just crap (I know, beggers cant be choosers)...I just wanted something "better". Oh well. But hey, you ahve no idea how much it means to know that you guys actaully care about people you've never even met . Its a nice feeling, thanks .

Ok, since someone started religion, I can't let the politics go. Bush has NOTHING to do with this ecomomy!

Hey man don't feel down. I have got a story to top yours and now i have a fun car. And a good job and my whole life changed in a matter of days. The biggest thing is keep your head up. Trust me your talking ot some one who lost 60 grand to a stock option. then went to prison for drugs. got out blew up my car. had no place to go and walked into the perfect job. And i ahve not looked back but if i find any of the parts for your cars in my parts bin i will send them free. Will the 12a air cooler lines wokr i got a few sets of them around here i could send. if it were to help.

ps the military is not for everyone.
also religion is no either.
and on politics blame it on NAFTA alot things went wrong then and have continued the chain since.

The problem with the muffler is the rear over axle pipe is welded to it, it porbalyl would be one large box unless he didnt mind if I cut it?

Ok, I came across and old radiator from an 84 that seems to work, but the paint is coming off EVERYWHERE, and it has no brackets on the sides. Hey, it was free. I have the brackets for it, but Im not sure how I should attach them...I have a mig, but I think thats too much. No gas set here . Also, if I manage to get the brackets back on it, can I just shoot it with some high temp paint and call it good? Im shooting for show and go in my car, so the chipping paint doesnt help...If no painting, then thats ok, cause Ill just get an alluminum one after I get my job like I planned on originally .

Service life is like marriage, not suitable for everyone, easy to get in but difficult to get out.

Reserves are a good compromise, especially if it helps pay for education. The secret is a learning a little discipline, after taking part in various actions in the Middle East I found it easy to stick to university study schedules for the next seven years. Being more experienced also helped get female company!

I agree that working in a fast food outlet is a good way to get money for essentials and teachs you communication and team skills. Both of my kids are at university, I certainly have no money problems but still make their spending money part dependent on their own part time earnings. Earn a dollar get one free. My son is heading for McGill in Quebec for a year's study and is already planning to get a Rex there!

Sorry that I cant help with parts but I am presently in the desert some 2,000 miles from the nearest small town. The First Gen Forum is a great place and I am certain you will get help and good advice from members.

Well, it just got worse for me. Ive come to the conclusion that the engine in the 85 GSL is toast for sure. It still runs, but it smokes at at idle now, no matter what the temp is, and anytime I rev it over 5K it get a nice cloud of smoke...****. Now I have to tell my Dad I just killed his car . If I had some oil cooler lines for a 13B (GSL-SE) that were in good shape that might help, but then his car also has a nasty idle problem, but Im sure thats because of the clogged exhaust...****. He can barely afford to put dinner on the table for himself, and now his car is dying, his other car (the one Ive been driving) might as well be dead...God damn...i feel SOOO bad about this, I just dont know what to do without any money .

Oh yeah..Thanks . I really dont want you all to think that Im trying to use sympathy to get anything...Its just that I have no one else to talk to about this...Like I said earlier (I think), I cant talk to my Mom as she has changed the locks and doesnt care about my car situation anyway, and my Dad will just be mad at me...I have no siblings so that wont work...I just needed someplace to vent...And talk to people that may have been through **** like this before...

dude, the mere fact that you brought it to us proves that you have more courage than most, at least more courage than me

no, seriously, do you know how many times i've started typing a thread to vent my problems? countless ... but, i was just too chicken.

i don't think you're trying to get sympathy and free parts. man, life sucks ... and these days, it just seems to get worse unless you have MONEY to buy/rent happy times. these guys here are great! like, Manntis said, we're a community ... and a pretty damn good one, in my opinion.

i hope things turn around for you soon ...

"Of one thing be sure young gentlemen: this and the next few years hold great possibilities for those that now have little. When the water is rough and weather uncertain, look out for valuable wreckage coming ashore. Of those that have, many have left little or nothing before long. Changed and changing conditions will develop a new crop for the prosperous. Things will have to be done in a new way, the man with a new idea will have a chance."
