IL: 84 GSL-SE Turbo (Forsale/Partout)
Ok guys.. Looks like i may be moving to California. If i do, i will probably sell my RX7 as if i lived there it would be a track only car. Which sucks (screw you CA emissions!!!)
Car is 84 GSL-SE.. Very clean. no rust, even fender wells are clean. It does need a new front bumper cover. (I took it off and it got screwed up) Also was starting to pull the molding off the sides, so it should be painted.
Currently here is the parts list. (i think i want to part it out)
S5 13B Turbo 0 Miles
- S6 Rotors 9:1 compression ratio
- S6 3peice 2mm Apex seals

- 5x114.3 Front rotors /w 4 piston aluminum calipers

Probably stuff i am forgetting. But thats the gist of it.. I wont actually sell anything unless i execpt this job in Palo Alto. But if i do take it there is no reason to keep this car
Just tring to let you guys know what it has and what may be forsale.
If i did sell it as a whole, it would probably be for ~8-10K
But i almost rather part it out, since i never got to enjoy it and have put sooooo much work into it.
Silver car obviously:
NOT SAME TURBO:

I should know in a week for sure what is happening.
Also might be willing to accept trades for emissions legal sports cars. Possibly of even higher value.

Ca Emisions aint that tough. Find a friend at a station...they can look past the visuals. jusy make sure your gas cap doesnt leak, and throw a cat on it, and do the Alc trick. should be able to pass.
might also disconnect the charge pipe just for the test.

Till i get pulled over and have it impounded.. I hear the cops there are beign REALLY bad about cars..
I rather just go buy another evo and leave it stock as to not get screwed with..
thanks for the help/info though.
pimpncuba: When you say engine, do you mean just the block? Or everything including the turbos & manifolds.
Do you want the exhaust/downpipe/mounts/tranny to fit a 1st gen?
pm me with some more details if your interested.
perfect_circle: sending pm now.

Returned alot of pms to you guys.. my email is zyounker@gmk2.com if you want an easier way to contact me.
I will be getting detailed pics this week over EVERYTHING. probably the whole disassembly too and will get pics of every part.
Alot of questions on the tranny x-member.
I rather sell the tranny, X-member, & custom driveshaft together. the tranny was modified to fit in a 1st gen, so it just makes sense they go together. As for people needing one, i'll take pics of it though so you can do your own.. Mine is a modified S4 X-member.
Thanks,
-Zach

Rollin' coal and 53mpg!
I can't believe you are doing this. I had such high hopes for this car.
Goddamit, YOU were the one that got me INTO first gens, and MY first RX-7!
I've begged and pleaded for you to get this car done, and now it's being stripped.... that's very sad.
If it's any consolation, what will it take to get the full -SE suspension from you?

Purchasing the whole body
I dont want to strip down a very clean SE so someone can steal the suspension off it.
As for me parting it out.. I am considering just selling off the body and alot of the extra parts. That way i just have to take the engine & ecu with me.. I can later drop it into whatever i want.. (I think it will be hard to get the $4K i spent on it back out of it)
I may not even sell any of it either.. Still waiting on the job situation.

I know.. I just know if i take it to CA, i'll never drive it on the street.. I was making the ultimate (IMO) street car 1st gen.
And if i am CA and it is a track only car, i will want to just throw a T78 on it or something and push 28 psi through it and see how fast it can go.
I guess thats not too bad, its just too nice to make a race car out of.
I guess i still have alot to think about.
BTW no matter what i will at least take pics of the X-member for everyone looking for one. They are really not hard to do.. Actually, i was going to upgrade the one i made, so it may still be forsale.. If i do make a new one, i guess i could make a few of them for everyone looking.
I'll probably use a very rigid polly bushing though.
