Ignitors for 1985 RX7 GSL-SE

Hey so I believe my ignitors have gone bad does anybody know cheaper replacements for them? I’ve seen GM made some that fit but I don’t have the part #. I’d appreciate the help almost got this car up and running.

search DFIS in the fb section of this site. Or posts by t g farrel , toruki, yeti , spetz they are experts on this.

I used : ignitor = acdelco d1906 coil = Nkg 49034 $100 for 2 of each

Your car will start easier, and run better with Direct Fire Ignition.

Ok but how would you wire it so that it fits onto the stock distributer and connects to the stock ignition coils?

I would go with an ignitor / coil for the two leading sparkplugs, and leave the trailing OEM.

If you want a fast, direct-replacement to get you back on the road fast just replace the ignitor(s). *NOTE - Are you sure this is the problem?

The DFIS setup is a proven mod. I plan on using it with my new motor swap, but it requires more parts and custom wiring. It's not hard, and there are many write-ups here. If you just want to try replacing an ignitor or two (for now) that is a more simple job. You can find tested ignitors in the classifieds, on epay, or I have some extras.

Yea just ordered the oem igniters and yes I believe so because the whole ignition system is new besides the dizzy. But yea thanks for the help though I mean if I ever have time to do something like that sounds interesting, direct injection on a rotary sounds crazy isn’t that what diesels use?

I don't know about deisels but it's basically what all modern gas engines do (coil on plug).
