You can hook your leading points assembly to an MSD's white wire and run direct fire with a 2nd gen leading coil to both leading spark plugs. You can also upgrade the leading spark plugs to ones with a larger gap.
Once the MSD is hooked up, the leading points will last almost forever since the electrical load to trigger an MSD box is much lower than stock current.
Or if you wanted to save some money, you could get yourself a Mopar ignition module. It too can be triggered by points. It's probably do a pretty good job with a 2nd gen leading coil too, but you'll need to use the little ballast resistor that's down inside the base the coil is mounted on.
I'd never buy Jacobs.

Search for the user name Elwood.
He took two Dizzys , took out the thing with 4 points and two of the pickups, put it together into one Dizzy and made direct fire for the leading and trailing. Kind of like a CAS wheel but with out all the expence, you can use 4 J-109 ignitors or GM HEI ignitors. It is a good read and has pics. Let me know if you cant find it and I will search a bit tomorrow.

hey im getting a 2nd gen coil for my 1st gen...right now i got 3 coils set up...2 stock ones direct fire the leads, and the trailing is set up like normal, it has an accel super soft coil though. i bridged the two stock coils and the trailing is normal. disabled the distributer cap for the three spots of the original trailing and run the trailing through the leading on the cap. im not sure if it helped any but i think when its not working (leading) the trailing is seriously making up for it. ill be going and have sudden lose of power. i know that the leading justed lost a ground or something. any advice?

Elwood's setup lost the ability to fire both leading plugs at the same time. This means the benefits of Late-Leading/simultaneous firing/wasted spark (all three terms apply to a two rotor engine) can not be realised on his engine. It's unfortunate with all that work he did.
italian_stud02, how are your two stock coils triggered? If each coil has its own ignitor as with DLIDFIS, it's actually a better setup than a 2nd gen leading coil because with DLIDFIS, each coil has its own dedicated ignitor whereas a 2nd gen coil has only one ignitor and one primary section of the coil to breakdown into two secondary windings and then fire two spark plugs.
There is a benefit I've noticed from bench testing an MSD with a 2nd gen leading coil, but you need to have an MSD to take advantage of it.
In other words, the 2nd gen leading coil mod (hooked to a regular old ignitor) is supposed to be the cheaper, easier alternative to DLIDFIS since it only requires one ignitor. Of course you're welcome to experiment all you want. However, if I were you, I'd figure out what's happening with your current setup first. Either way, good luck.

ok jeff 20b...i really apriciate the help.
ok ?, wuts that DLISDFIS thing mean, i know i spelled it wrong but i think u get the idea.
How about this set up.... from the leading coil (original) set up 2 MSD blaster 2 and bridge them. now plug each one to the leading spark. up grade the trailing to an blaster 2 as well. mount them all upright cuz its better functionallity. now the second part of my ?, will the msd fire at 120 degrees and will the fire at the same time? if not how do i control that?

Lives on the Forum
I just did the 2nd gen coil swap. Took about ten minutes and works great. The butt dyno says there's a noticeable difference in power in the lower gears. She idles smoother than ever now too. I highly recommend it, but I know there are some more complicated procedures that will produce a little more power (maybe?). Good luck...
Here's the link to do the swap if interested:
