ignition switch compatibility, PLEASE HELP!

i need to know if the ignition switch from my 79 rx-7 (parts car) will swap cleanly into my 85? i really dont want to have to buy an ignition switch. splicing and soldering would not be an issue to me either if necessary.

just try it! i think all you need to do is take off the steering plastics, unplug a plug or two and one phillips head screw holds the switch onto the tumbler.
