does anyone know what type MSD ignition you'd put in a 84 gsl-se (13b street ported). and should i get one w/ a rev limiter (i know i'd have to set it real high)

 

If you go MSD ($195 US = shipping from Jeg's or Summit...), you'll need the 6AL box to get the limiter. It uses chips, not a rotary ****, but I think the range supplied with the box should have you covered. Alternately, an Accel box PN 49320, doesn't need chips to set the rev limiter and comes with its own "E-core" style coil. So you get a new box and a new coil at the same time for $6 less. It also won a "most HP gain" in a back-to-back shootout with 5 other boxes in the same price range that included the MSD 6AL. Before you deviate from stock, however, this thread should be considered mandatory reading...go through all of it before you do anything else ignition-wise to your rex that isn't stock maintenance...
