Igniter Wiring

Hey everybody,

been a little while, been so busy with school and getting the car together. but lets see, the new motor is in and I'm in the "lets crank and see what happens" stage and I realized my igniters arent wired up. duh. ok so if I'm not mistaken, my fuel pump wont turn on if my igniters arent wired up, so in my stupidity... ...while i was cleaning the engine bay out I must have removed the wiring for my igniters and I cant find out how to wire them up.

Is it just "B" terminal goes to the battery and "C" terminal goes to the appropriate coil? how do i get my fuel pump to turn on? I looked at the FSM (along with many other articles) and I cant figure out the wiring diagram...im retarded i know.

any help would be awesome!! its so close!!!

Thanks
zach

There should be two white plugs (look like a "T") near the igniters on the dizzy. You plug those into the appropriate igniter. The igniter closest to the radiator is leading. The one by the alt is trailing.

The connectors for the igniters have the following colors:

Leading:
top wire: yellow w/ blue stripe
bottom wire: black w/ white stripe

Trailing:
top wire: yellow w/ green stripe
bottom wire: black w/ white stripe

Best of luck.

Thats actually what I removed- I'm going to have to wire it up myself... so I really need to know where those wires went...haha thats really good information though!

Are your coils still in place and wired? If so, the BW (black w/ white stripe) wires that were connected to the igniters can connect to coil + (you can connect them both to one coil, doesn't matter which). The other wire for each igniter goes to the respective coil -. So where the YG (yellow/green) wire was connected to the trailing igniter, that would now be connected directly to the trailing coil (-). Same thing with the leading.

The signal wire that goes to trigger the fuel pump should be connected to the trailing coil (-) and should still be connected unless you too that one out too.

Edit: You can find the wiring diagrams here: http://www.wankel.net/%7Ekrwright/fi...g_Diagrams.pdf They may help you figure out what wires you have and what you don't.

Is what legal? Hijacking your own thread you mean? The problem is that I don't know the extent of you wiring removal. In the stock setup, the trailing - gives a signal to the ECU (emissions control unit, its under the passenger foot area). The ECU then energizes the fuel pump relay, which then runs the pump. You may have disconted power to the ECU or similar. You can run power directly to the fuel pump. Just use a switched source (power when key is on). The earlier 7s have it setup this way.

Question: Did you wire the coils yet and if so, are you getting spark?

ok i got the igniters wired up, but ran out of daylight...dont know if i have spark yet, the battery's dead, it just sat for about a month so ill get a jump which sucks, but yea as far as things being wired up theres really not much anymore, headlights, retractors, coils, igniters, starter, i think thats really about it, i really wanted to clean it up, but i think i mightve gone too far ha... but sweet ill give that a check when i get the battery jumped and then ill wire up the fuel pump, then see what happens...
