If I were to buy a rebuilt...

So I am thinking about purchasing a rebuilt 12a for my 83GS, and having mine rebuilt. It is losing compression and has 151,000 miles on it, but both rotors move freely, and the engine overall runs fine, unfortunately, I can't pass emissions.

Anyone have any reccomendations on whether to get mine rebuilt, by who? or buy a rebuilt from who? and who to install it? In central/western new jersey. I am willing to take the car anywhere within about 6 hrs, which covers most of lower new england down to NC and West to the end of PA. Has anyone had good luck? I am looking to keep the engine as stable and long running as possible, and not do mods to it or race it. It's a daily driver/restoration project. Thanks!

i got mine for 1500 and it comes with a 1 year full warranty plus put everything on the motor and i just struck her in. he was a nice guy. but that was cheap for a street port 12a with a complete rebuild. he is in neosho missouri. and does remarkable work.

Check out http://www.kdrotary.com/ They're located about an hour or so from you in Nazareth PA. David Barninger kdrotary@enter.net is real responsive with email and although I've never used them, I hear these guys are good.
