Idle sound?

Ok Ok... I know I'll sound stupid, once again, but should my motor shake? It has a certain rythm to it,... but I thought that rotaries werent supposed to have vibrations???

Plus, When i start it, It revs to about about 2500 RPM for 5 seconds, then drops back down to normal... is this true for every car? or is there something wrong with mine?

BTW, when the motor shakes it makes a noise like "brrp brrp"... is that the quieter noise of what the cars make when they're ported? everyone says that they go "brap brap" but this is a very mellow version.

i think you need to lay off the LOL

the noise you are describing on decel is indicative of a bad shutter valve

A cold rotary will idle at about 2,000 RPM, occasionally a bit higher, then drop to the standard 800 RPM when warm.

A little bit of idle vibration is expected, especially if one or more of your engine or tranny mounts are getting old.

Rotaries are not vibration-free, they have substantially less vibration at high RPM than their piston counterparts.

I was starting to blame the problem on the motor mounts already. Thanks for the info, Manntis.

My bro's GLS-SE would rev high when first started, but then go down quickly if he put it in gear and slight released the clutch. It had a sensor or something on the clutch pedal. It's probably normal.

Your porting is stock, so it'll never make the classic brap brap of a bridgeport,
