Whenever I start my rx7 up, she idles really low (under 1,000) and wants to stall. I have to keep my foot on the gas and keep it idled up to 1200 or so until it warms up (5 - 10 minutes), then it's normally fine.

Sometimes when I'm pulling to a stop and facing up or down hills, it will stall. I normally only notice this after I've been driving it semi-hard to hard for 30 - 45 minutes though. The radiator is hot to the touch, but it doesn't feel abnormally hot (my temp guage is bad). The hoses to & from the engine are also warm/hot so I know coolant is flowing.

It likes to idle at around 1000, or just under all the time. Should I be worried or change anything?

1979 car. 1983 engine (12a). It's stock as far as I know.

Edit: I should also mention that when it stalls when I'm coming to a stop, it fires right back up with no problems and doesn't stall again at that stop.
