Idle bounces abit constantly, help please :)

Hi hi
Just afew questions about my idle, ok, first off, my idle bounces at all times while the car is on (because it doesn't idle when its off ) its set to 850 rpmish (give or take abit) and it bounces from anywhere from 250rpm to 1k rpms at all times while I'm idling (for the most part), is there anyway to pin point what could be causing this? like any common problems I should look into?

ok, this may sound stupid, but in hopes that you all are understanding and don't call me stupid is the idle screw suposed to have vaccum pressure coming past the screw? if I start my car and stick my thumb where the idle screw is, I can feel air getting sucked into the engine (or what have you) from where the screw is, this is a 13b FI just in case your wondering

Oh, and off topic, my interior lights (the two on the rear view mirror) are sometimes working, sometimes not, its mostly based on luck wiether it works or not, I have chased the wires and what have you the best I can without taking everything apart (interior), and I havent found anything wrong I don't think, so it there anything that commonly causes this that I should check out? Any help on any of these would be very appreciated

Your bouncing idle could be the fault of a bad shutter valve. Do a search for this. There was a big topic about this type of problem not too long ago.

it seems like this sort of thing happens to pretty much every gsl-se. mine had the same problem. you might what to check your throttle positioning sensor. when they go bad, they do weird things. it could also be a shutter valve like vladu13 said. there are about 100 other things it could be though. do a search.

Napa sells spray electrical cleaner... evaporates quickly... definitely remove power first.
