Idle adjustment question

I know how to set the idle per sterlings instructions but what is a good starting point on th mixture? (example. 2 turns out) If I adjust the idle up or down the car has a hard time starting, I had it idling about a 1000 one time but it was super hard to start afterwards. (while engine hot) I may have a vac leak, I was just wondering if any of you guys have any advice on where to start with the mixture.

Thanks
Joe

If you've read all of Sterlings carb threads in the FAQs, then you would know that 3 full turns out is the baseline starting point.

After reading the "threads", i did find it in the opening thread not posted by sterling. Maybe it's mentioned again somewhere else too.
Sorry I overlooked it.

Well, by golly, you should be. LOL. If you missed it in Sterling's threads, we both may have read it somewhere else. Once you're at the 3 turns out and can get it started, then you can start bringing the idle down. If it doesn't want to go down, sounds like a woman for sure now, lol, then it's time to find where the sucking , er vacuum leak is. Damn I need to get laid.
