I just removed the birds nest from my '85 12a, and I can't get the idle to move below of 1500 rpm's. I turned the adjusting screw counter clockwise two full turns and was afraid to go any farther. Turning it clockwise seemed to increase the idle. Any thoughts?

 

Put the nest back on. You car needs it to survive.
