idle

my idle is really screwy, this is the situation. i have a 84 gsl-se with a 88 13b in it(84 gsl-se ecu running it). when it's cold it jumps around 2000- 2500 for idle. when it starts to warm up which is right away it idles down to 900 slowly then jumps up to 1200. could the AMF casue this b/c i'm running a sewer adpter to the AMF, then a cone filter on the other side of it. i had to adjust the TPS already. adjusting the Air Bleed Valve and Idle mixture does nothing. could a completly rust out exhaust cause this? how do you adjust the AMF.

Could it be the injectors are not spraying properly cuz thats wat chris from cp racing diagnosed on my friends 88 FC today....it's idle was pretty screwy kept going up and down up and down. check if thats the problem

is it just the 88 shortblock and your using the GSL-SE manifolds, or did you swap the whole thing in there?

This would help in determining exactly what you have running there.

And as for the AFM, there was a thread about that a while back. I cant remember if it was in the second gen forum of the first gen forum though. But the bottom line of the thread was dont adjust the AFM, it works by far the best in the default setting.

Again we need to know more about your setup.

k the setup...

-88 13B block
-84 ecu
-ACV removed
-air pump removed
-egr removed
-power steering pump removed
-rats nest removed
-custom vacum setup(lines and swithces/sensors)
-1st gen fuel rail modified fit the 2nd gen block and run ss lines
-1st gen injectors
-1st gen front cover
-1st gen dizzy and ignition setup
-1st gen oil pan and filter
-2nd gen Dinamic effect camber
-2nd gen intake manifold
-injector hole plug set from racing beat, modified to fit the secondary injecor holes on the s4 DEC
-1st gen exhaust (racing beat header on order. 2.5 piping, magnaflow muffler)
-custom intake filter setup made to use the 2nd gen throttle body and 1st gen AMF and recive a cone filter
-1st gen trani
-2nd gen clutch

this is in a 84 gsl-se
