Question Idiot lights in dash......

Why would they not be lighting up when I turn the ignition key to on? The seat belt light comes on thats it,,,no oil light or temp light or anything else.
I was a dumbass and replaced a fusible link with a piece of wire and must have fried something but what? The fusible link is fixed properly now.
Any ideas?

do your dash lights work? Do you have a stick? A common problem is people conect the wire that is under the shifter boot causing a direct ground. Did this happen?

Check your fuses and then check you're connections to the altenator. Usually when nothing lights up the alternator isn't functioning properly.

Maybe I fried my alternator when I had the wire in the fuseable link. Oh well it should start without the lights.
Willl it start if the alternator is fried? I know it wont charged the battery but will it atleast start?
