how do I remove the black tip on the end of the factory air cleaner assembly ?

by removing this will it effect how the choke opens and closes the inlet ?

That is a beautiful engine bay, don't modify that 'cause you really won't see a difference.

Agreed.

That is a pristine stock engine bay. The CAI wouldn't make much of a difference, except in the rice department.

The snorkel pops off, it will take a bit of wiggling and pulling. Since your engine bay is so pristine, I would find a used air cleaner and mod that, saving the good one if you need to go back stock.

If I were making one, I would cut the snorkel back as far as I could, yet still be able to clamp on a length of round ducting. I have a spare base if you want one. PM me for a price.

FWIW, a 3" silicone coupler will slip onto the oval shape of the metal lower section once the plastic snorkel is removed.

ProjektSE7EN, can you tell me where you got that carb hat from? Or is that custom fabricated?

Its a proven fact even with a cai with a carb hat they actually hurt power even over a stock air cleaner assembly. They mess up the flow of the air into the carb too much.

I have the same thing... It makes the car sounds meaner, there is not a noticeable difference with the gain tho, it does feel a little better (maybe its in my head also)
