The TII hood is designed to flow air through the standard top mount intercooler , no intercooler on the 1st gen so all your really doing is raising the pressure in the engine bay and therfor reducing the flow through the rad + it will add some drag

But if you wanted it for a cold air application, wouldn't it be better arrow-dynamic-ly to have an air duct? (Sorry can't spell very well). (I'm not good with grammer either)
Like the mariah hood. Plus I think that hood looks better than the turbo II hood. At least, on a FB anyways.

There are air filters for carbs that are designed to just have the most possible air flow. But they suck hot air from the top of the engine. If you put a scoop above it, you would have all the air you need, plus it would be colder.
A lot of muscle cars get set up kinda like this, but when you're making 400 lbs of torque at 2000 RPM, drag isn't really a concern.

I have the answer. Contact this guy at CPRACING. They are in the process of making an all glass 1st gen hood with the TII scoop already on it.

How's it going? I'm a little concerned here... you say you tried to contact me and Mariah on this and had no luck?!? I checked my e-mail and I didn't see an e-mail from you... when did you write?
As for Mariah, I checked with them and they did acknowledge recieving an e-mail from you on 02/09 and responding to you on 02/17, to the following e-mail address: rollerXXXX@hotmail.com. (Shaun C.)
My 7 has a OEM T-II scoop custom grafted onto the 1st gen hood. The hood was fabricated using both a OEM T-II hood scoop piece and a OEM 1st gen hood with a OEM style fiberglass inner-frame. The overall process took approximately 20- 25 hours of body work to accomplish. The hood was bonded, molded and riveted and then allowed to cure for a while. The rivets were then removed and final body finish was done. Anyone who has ever seen my hood can tell you that it looks OEM. It take time and effort to get it to look right. Also, if not done with care, the molding and bonding will begin to show through in very short time. The heat that a hood takes makes shoody body work apparent, very quick. Mariah can reproduce this hood, but it would probably cost approx. $800...
Hope this helps.
