i wanna shoot flames
Ok so what happens if i remove the thermal reactor, replacing it with a RB header, also deleting the first 2 cats or just 1? Any downside? any higher chance of backfire? what do i do with the 2 hoses going from there to the air intake snorkel?
Well i see 2 cats down there, the first one is a huge one which is the thermal reactor.. and after that one there 2 small ones..are they silencers then?
wow, why so much work to blow flames. remove the smog pump and get a header, and a free flowing exhaust. the SE should do it no problem. and I do beleave you have secondary injectors. but IDK the SE. I know all secound gens have secondarys. also you can wire open your 6 port that may help.
SEs have only 2 injectors. Best way to shoot flames is adding headers. a straight through pre-silencer/glass pack, run it up to 7k rpms, let off the throttle till it drops back to 4k then floor it again.

did this thread really need to make it to two pages?
Can anyone answer my question hehe.. not to be rude.. my last post before this one.
Btw if i go straight through exhaust..let's say headers, either 1 or 2 glasspack or resonator plus a muffler is going to be a loud sucker!! will get pull over every corner

i used to have headers straight piped to an ebay muffler and it was LOUD...but i never got pulled over (ran like that for about 1.5 months). now i have headers to a pre-silencer (unknown brand) to a ractive straight through muffler and it's fairly quiet and i think it sounds quite beefy for a stock 12a.

the thermal reactor WAS the exhaust manifold on 79-80 7's. the 79-80 RX-7 had no converters. what you think is a converter is the heat exchanger. what year is your 7? any way you can post a pic of your exhaust?
Update!! there no 2 or 3 cats like i said lol,, i only see the thermal reactor and that small heat exchanger??
well i am working on a budget build..... i live in hawaii and there arent too many 7s here as it is plus all the damn work i put into it to make it run,.... dont really wanna just ditch it all and go to carb.... FI is quite nice, but i started out on an SA so i know about the carb system!!!
i'll see if i can get a decent video/sound clip...
i don't have a camera that would take vid, and my cellphone will make it sound really shitty...the pipe is a 2.5in diameter. as stated before, i'm not sure about resonator make but the whole exhaust came off an 83 rx7 and it has held pretty well in my car too meaning it hasn't burnt up yet but it doesn't look like the RB either. the muffler is by RACTIVE it looks like this except stainless steel:http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=1707

this is the best i could do man, crappy cellphone video. its sounds a bit deeper in person. sorry for lumpy idle and no revs...car was still warming up.
