Eibach springs are considerably higher rates

Here is a thread with spring rates for most popular springs available.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/what-best-springs-82467/

Remember seriously hard rears means a seriously harsh ride.

nope no dirt roads...just I-5 through seattle which prolly has more potholes and is worse then a dirt road lol

When I go around corners the front end stays planted to the road and it always feel like the rear is swaying to one side trying to swap ends on me.

I'm assuming that stiffer rears would solve the leaning feeling during hard cornering and and hard braking?

Stiffer sway bar will do more for the leaning. If the front is diving during hard braking, stiffen the struts and springs. If the rear is raising, stiffen the shocks first.

I have rb sways front and rear, rb springs frt and rear, and tokico blues.

Already got a sway bar in the rear. Front doesn't dive at all from hard braking, but I have noticed that when I'm cornering hard and get on the brakes the rear wants to lift and kinda tip over to the corner side. Or if I'm taking a 270 degree off ramp and take the car to its traction limit then lift off the gas the rear will get floaty feeling, kinda hard to explain but what I want is for the rear to be just as planted to the road as the front.

I'm guessing that stiffer rear rates will help accomplish this? Or would I be going in the opposite direction? thanks

Measure the height of the wheel wells. The rears should be 20 mm lower than the fronts.

gotcha, i think I will do that tonight

What can I expect to learn from the results? I'm positive the rear is sitting higher then the front from eyeballing it

I'm going to throw something at you I say pretty regularly, take one end of the rear anti-sway bar off and then go for a drive, if you prefer the handling (I'm sure you will) remove the rear anti-sway bar.

Now the rear end on our cars tends to bind, what bushings do you have? Is your rear control arms and watts linkage stock.

If so consider some more radical changes like the three link and panhard rod, if that's too much get poly bushings for the lower arms and watts, then rubber for the uppers but new rubber, this will reduce the problem but wont get rid of the inherent problem.

I lowered mine with Eibach 200lb springs with 2 deadcoils cutoff, it hits the bump stops only on hard bumps. I also cut 2 inches off the rear fender wells for clearance of the 225/50/15 tires. Let me know if you want to take it for a ride and you can see for yourself.

How much better does it corner/drift with the coilovers?

wha...remove the rear sway bar? How would this help me? That sounds like a radical idea, people have done this and are happy with the results? I bought mine for $180 that would be a shame if the bar worsend the handle

I take corners at 50-60mph that I used to take at 35-45mph. I corner like it's on rails.
Then coilovers are a dream come true.....When do you get off? I work at 51st&156th next to Microsoft.

nevermind the "get off time", come by my work after you get off, I can take off for 20 minutes or so.

How fast can you take the 85th street/I405 on/off ramps at? (clover thing that you could circle)
at about 50ish mine starts to get kinda squirly for my tastes.

Just try it, drive a mountain road, or and autocross, then disconnect one endlink and go it again, you'll be surprised, at speed its a big difference. Now it may not suit your style so that's why I suggest trying it out.

You have to put a gun to my head to drive on I-405, That's why I live in Carnation, no traffic and easy access to I-90.....in otherwords I don't know.
Tomorrow is fine, I'll pm you my cell and we can meet up after you get off around 6pm

Here is an article by Whitline.com that goes into more detail aout the rear ride hight being lower then the front. It covers the entire suspension setup.
