i took apart my old motor (pictures inside)

my motor lost compression, well it still had some, but i guess it wasnt enough, so i put a 19k mile motor in my car, and this is the stock one. it had 163k on it, and a VERY rough last 30k miles (from me ). here are some pictures.

yeah, most of that 12A is reusable.

hahah, whatever, that thing is completely toasted. mine usually blow up before they wear out tho. so i don't have stuff looking like that.

if you look at the side of the lobe in that picture, you can see the heat makes where its going some nice colors going on there. im wondering if it is warped? or just.. i dont know? im thinking of building a turbo 4 port 13b, so i wouldnt use that eshaft anyways, but incase i do put it back together as a 12a, im just wondering if it would be ok to use like that.

i think oil change every 800 miles is WAY overboard. i would like to say i changed it every 3k miles, but i didnt. it sometimes made it to 4-4.5k. i also (im going to get flamed/shoot myself in the foot) but was supposed to be running 2 stroke oil with my gas, and honestly, just forgot/didnt get around to it most of the time. i used to be VERY particular about my car, oil change every 3k, 2stroke in every tank of gas, sometimes oil changes after every autox. it eventually went down hill. i still took care of my car, but the biggest thing was the 2 stroke oil. it had nothing to lubricate the inside of the motor, which is i think why the housings look like that.

this new motor i have has the stock oil metering system hooked up, but i plan to take that out and start premixing again.

all in all, that motor has had a very rough life (atleast after i got ahold of it). ive always had the "drive it like you stole it" mentallity, and i still do when it comes to autox and so on, but im just going to take a **** load better car of this new motor.

all of them I've build (and that's quite a few) have had the blue marks my best guess is it's from heat treating the wear surfaces....you gotta remember nitriding is only a surface hardening process so it would give that discoloration.
