I thought I had an original car...

Until I went to West Seattle. I have been drivng around Woodinville for the past 6 months since I got my license, and 17 years before that with my family, and I have only seen maybe 3 1st gens around here (not that I was realy looking before I started driving though), so I was feeling proud to have an original car. Well, a girl I like lives in West Seattle, so I have been back and fourth a few times now, and the second time I was over there, I saw 3 first gens in one night. A blue 84-85 GSL-SE, a silver 82-83 GSL, and a silver (I think, It was dark, but the rims gave it away) 83 Lmtd Edition . Then, the next night, I saw a brown 80-81 GSL on the side of the road (dead ), and another silver 84-85 GS is right down the street from this girls house...Like 4 houses down the street . I havent seen so many 7s in a long time . Anyway, I just thought Id share. I drive a silver GSL, so I guess I fit right in .

~T.J.

PS - I just had a thought...Maybe with all the 7s running around out there, thats why no one wants to race me...They've all learned their lesson already .

I see several 1st gens vitually everyday around my area. Gives me the warm and fuzzy feeling inside. I see about two 2nd gens every other week and about 1 3rd gen about every other month.

Around here there are at least 3 GSL-SE's, 2-3 GS's and my GSL that are constantly running around. I know of one (either GS or GSL) that is just sitting in my friend's uncle's driveway, neglected, but he won't sell it. Also a few 2nd gens, and 1 or 2 3rd gens. This town is rich with rexes.

Plus, I've got 4 1st gens (and a fifth if they decide to part it instead of selling it) and a 2nd gen in local boneyards (less then a ten minute dirve to either one) to pick over. One of the 1st gens actually has a RB Front Strut Tower Bar in it. But they refuse to sell it .

the most i have seen in one day is 2. but one of them was just like mine, which is not at all common( i was pissed but kinda glad). its a silver 79 s with one sideview mirror, and i think it also had the same bootleg steel rims. but i doubt it was lower mileage than mine so its ok.

I have that problem,
Most of the kids around here get cars from there parents (bastards) very few have the disiplin to pay for, upgrade and maintain a older sports car.
I do get the respect from the people of whoom it matters (others kids like me)

Anyways, one of these rich mothe ******* has copied me almost exactly. I have yet to see it, but my freinds who go to the local overstuffed public school told me about it. I am pissed as hell. Not so much that he is coping me, is that he isnt paying for it.

******!

No one at my school drives them, and like I said, no one around here has them... And until I went to Seattle, I never saw that many of them . But now I see them wuite often, and I kinda like it . Oh and when I said 80-81, I meant 79-80 cause it still had the lock on the gas door (I think they got rid of that after 80, right?) .

Mazda blanked the key-lock gas covers in '83 ... but don't mind me, i'm just an old guy with no life, so that's why i pay attention to these things.

anyway, where i'm living now, there are surprisingly quite a few Gen I cars around ... i heard that they even have a local club here, too.

I am amongst the few who have a 1st gen rx7 here in my home town (and the only one rollin a LE ), but there's a grip of 2nd gens rolling around here, and yet, no 3rd gens from what i've seen , looks like I might be going in debt and hooking up a 3rd gen soon

I remember when my 84 was only 6 years old. Everyone had a 7 or a Miata. Everytime I passed one we always flashed our headlights up and down. Even the Miata guys would flash me. It was like a religion. I would be out in the middle of nowhere, a 7 would go buy and it was like automatic headlight pop.

Ah the good old days, when people drove cars and appreciated them.
Other than the cherry'd pumpkin colored 7 I see around here most have teenagers in them and the exhaust are all **** so they soud like crap.

There are 2 fb's in front of my apartment, another in the garage, another at my wife's (2 miles away, don't ask), and yet another that we just put a deposit on in Dallas. It would be odd to me not to see at least 3 in a day.
