I think i've blown my motor, what do you guys think?

I did the self compression check, rear rotor seems fine "psss, psss, psss" front rotor is a different story "psss, *no sound*, half psss half thump" sounds like it's time for a rebuild, what do you guys think? If i have to rebuild the motor, i'm sorry to say but i'm forever done with rx-7s. I'll stick around the forum and keep my car until it doesn't run at all anymore, then i'm parting it out.

Sounds like you tossed an apex seal. Depending on damage to the rotor/rotor housing, you may need to get those parts replaced. Unfortunately, aside from pulling the header and using a mirror to possibly get a look at the apex of the rotor, there's no way to tell without tearing down the engine...

Best of luck to you.

what? i love his airdam, its definatly my favorite of the ones ive seen, and if he's done with rex's and he parts his out, i could give the airdam a good home. dont get me wrong, i hope he keeps his car in one peice, its better that way, save the parting out for cars that cant be saved, like my new car. The body is falling apart, but the rest is good. im going to give most of the parts good homes, if not on my car on someone elses.

Get a used motor, they are pretty cheap and easy.... very easy to swap. You can have your car running again by the end of the day.

If you didn't live so far I could have hooked you up for very cheap, we pulled my brothers gsl-se motor out yesterday and it runs perfectly. We bought a t2 motor for it.

Well, Detroit is where you would want to go to Jimmy & O, I have a friend from Mississauga, and that was the closest US city to the Canadian border.

Atkins rotary

Check out their ebay store because you'll save money. I just bought gaskets/seals from them for my 12A rebuild. A lot cheaper ($60) than mazdatrix - and that's without mazdatrix's shipping price!

You were cranking it with all the plugs out right?

Mine was doing the same thing, and it was only flooded. It would lose compression, I think because of all the fuel in there. So I disabled the pump, and cranked away, and it blew all of the fuel out, and I could notice that my rear rotor didn't have compression. After a few seconds of cranking, and getting oil in there, it regained it. I put my plugs in and fired it up.

I tried it with one plug out and two plugs out, i soaked the engine with atf... the whole quart, let it sit for an hour, turned the engine over by hand, let it sit another hour. I did the "compression" check again and still doing the same.

IS THAT CORKY BELL'S MAXIMUM BOOST BOOK!?! I have been looking for that forever. Please tell me where you bought it and for how much. I've talked to Corky on the phone several times but I have never asked him if he could send me the book. We usually end up talking about my car or the Cartech kits. He is a really nice guy, very smart and I'd love to read his words on turbos.
