I have thought about this mod for one thing only. Function. Where I work the parking spaces are so crowded together that I can't get in and out of my car. And every time they re-stripe they celebrate how many more parking spaces they were able to jam in. In addition they're building a new building next year and it is going to be in the parking lot. Maybe I need to buy a motorcycle because it is getting ridiculous.

But I do omit it would have to look right though. Straight up not butterfly, sideways, upside down, or inside out. If it allowed a person to enter and leave while parked only one foot away from the car next to it. I would be interested.

 

Warning: The closet will not hold an RX-7 even with the doors modified. First of all, it is too small. Secondly, there are still some ******* in there that haven't come out yet.

 

scissor doors = Lamborghini, Konnigsegg

gullwing doors = DeLorean, Mercedes 300SL, Bricklin

butterfly doors = MacLaren, Ford GT, Mercedes SLR

Personally, I have only seen the old Ford GT40 LeMans cars with the roof attached to the door iteself so the driver wouldn't hit his head when running in.

I wouldn't know about McClaren, my grandpa sold his before I was born. Apparently g-ma thought feeding the family was cooler than Formula 3000

This is what happened when I put lambo doors on my 86 year old grandmother's car.. Learn from my experiences, don't do it.

actually the koenigsegg has dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors(damn swedish non-sence) and the ford GT simply has regular doors that just cut into the roof the butterfly door is more of a McLaren thing note that the Mercedes SLR is actually called the McLaren Mercedes because it is made by McLaren and thats why it has butterfly doors
