I need some help with ignition!
Alright I did the electronic dizzy swap about 2 weeks ago and it went smooth. Along with this I did the 2nd gen direct fire swap. Well now the bitch isnt working and I knew this was gonna happen. Earlier I put the timing light on the L1 side of the coil and it was firing good, then I'd put it on L2 and barely anything, wtf? So I did some swapping and swapped the plugs out and after a little dicking around it started to run on the back rotor again. So I let it sit and listen to it, then it just all the sudden dies down again, and then just shuts off. Damn this sucks. I want to know how to check the main components like the ignitor, 2nd gen coil. I have a voltage meter thing and I dont know how to be sure they're in good working order, Please help! I should have stuck to points distributor.. All this while I JUST bought a turbo from Gregs81 (thanks bro) I think I'm just gonna take it off the road to save up for turbo parts and engine rebuild.... But I would like to solve the ignition crap, and if it is a ignitor, I dont wanna use the same ones again, because they'll be used....

Ok, you did the 2nd gen coil swap. Which means that both leading plugs fire at the same time off the 2nd gen coil which is trigger by the leading ignitor. You will need to check the spark plug wires. If the L1 is working L2 is running off the same coil/ignitor st up.
Either bad plug wire or bad 2nd gen coil. Not sure how to test the coil.

I didnt fry it because it went on and off, and I did the mod to take out the 2nd gen ignitor and use the resistor in it. If it fried, why would only 1 side of the coil work? I think I just have to run a cap setup with another stock-like coil, mabye the msd.
