I need help smogging my car. It is a 83 gs. Does anyone have the hook up here in the bay area. If so, could you help me out.

The days of hookups are starting to get thin and scarce. Not many shops will risk getting a "hook you up" reputation because of the high cost of comforming to the new test standards.The shop owners had to pay for the testing gear and getting a bad rep, can get your smog license revoked.

What do your smog numbers look like?
There arent many smog control systems on a rotary,really its just the secondary air injection system and the cats.There is no conventional PCV system and no EGR on 90% of them.If your tuned up and timed correctly,that only leaves a couple culprits to blame for a smog failure.Get em' fixed and you can get a legal smog anywhere.A proper running rotary with working cats and air injection can pass even the new standards easily.They are actually pretty clean running when its all working right......to bad that can't be said for fuel consumption!

 

i dont have a hookup but i can make the car pass, if you've got all the stock stuff on there....
