Any easy way to do this? The adjustment screws aren't enough. I haven't even taken it apart to look at it yet but I figure any kind of heads up would be nice.

Make sure that the lights aren't installed upside down or something. Otherwise, maybe the bushings in the retractor linkages are worn out, keeping the lights from going up all the way...

I'm actually trying to get them to point down farther. I've got the ebay projectors with the little blue running light, so I know they are installed correctly with the light on the bottom. (not that I actually hooked up that nasty looking thing!)

Thanks though, I'll tear into it today and post up what ever I find.

Is there anyway to retain the factory closed position but adjust how high the headlights come up? If I could stop the headlights about 4 inches lower than the factory full up position my cutoff on these HID's would be perfect.

Right about here I get great cutoff....

Thanks..

Hit up the 240sx boards for the "sleepy eye" mod... there's an expensive controller from Pivot that can do it, or have some fun with momentary switches and clipped wires?

Sorry I mis-read what you were saying. The following is for those who have the stock lights and are trying to get the cheap sleeper look.

You actually need a longer bolt at the bottom (the bottom "height" adjuster). Go to home depot and see if you can find one that the same thread just longer, a lot longer. Just dis-connect the headlight motors and adjust by hand to ur desired height. I don't recoomend this without first having a fog light type set-up as the stock lights will pretty much be useless since half of them will be under the header panel. I was gonna do the same thing next week when i had the time.

I doubt this will work? The bolt threads in on the bottom to angle the lights down. So adding a longer bolt would just allow you to angle them further up? I suppose the inboard bolt on the side could be made longer? But this would shoot your lights outboard as well as down.

I tried sliding small wooden blocks behind the top of the light. This worked fine but I came into problems fitting the plastic shroud back on and also ran into clearance issues when trying to close the lights.

Heres what I found on the "LAZY EYE MOD" with the 240's.

This looks to be the easiest way. The HID light conversion is just to blinding I don't recommend this for standard halogen bulbs... But with the HID's I still have tons of light.

Looks like they just interrupt the signal going to the motor. Not sure which wires I'd cut to interrupt the signal to the motors on our cars though. Just the main Headlight relay? Where exactly is that?

Any help would be great!

This seems alright for $50 too... the instruction sure don't look like they are in english though...

So according to this wiring diagram if I just put a switch inline with the "R" wire I should interrupt the "UP" signal in the motor right? I just need to find a good place to tap a switch into? According to the diagram R is going to the light combo switch. Anyone know a good place I can tap in a switch to this wire?

There is an adjustable bump stop when the lights are in the down position, has a rubber bumper on the end of the bolt. What Nector was refering to is replacing that bolt with a longer one to keep the headlights in the 'sleepy eye' position full time, then disable the motors so they no longer go up and down, That can be done by pulling the retactor fusible link.

Gotcha, I'd like to go the sleepy eye route, but also retain the ability to retract. So Installing an interupt switch seems to be the way to go. I just need to figure which wire to interrupt!

Thanks
