I Need Help With My 85 Gsl-se

Hey, I Have An 85 Rx7 Gsl-se, What Happens When The Fuel Pump Quicks Working? Will I Notice Anything Going On With My Car. Something Crazy Is Happening With My Car, It Wont Start, If It Does, It Puts Out Gray Smoke, And It Sputters. Is It The Fuel Pump, Or What Do You All Think It Is?

Come on guys, let's not start dumbing up on the new guy just because he used caps and sounds panicy.

Saxonp4, take deep breath, turn off the caps, type in longer, more descriptive, sentences.

Welcome to the forum btw.

I am serious about the ether, trochoid. I love that stuff. Works wonders on my 7 and my old jeep, lawmnowers, etc.

Ethers just de-fib for your car, it only gets it started but doesn't fix the problem. Unless, however, it's just flooded, and just needs to run for a while to clean up it's own mess.

ok, i was driving down the road @ about 60mph. the car started to loosed a lot of power, and it begin to sputter, i put the clutch in, and it died out, i down shifted into 4th, and popped the clutch, the car started back again. i started to accelerate, and the car was real jumpy, like it was wanting to die out, but it couldnt b/c i had the gas down, then i noticed alot of black/gray smoke coming from the exhaust in the back, the higher the RPM's were, the smoother it was, but if i was in 5 gear at about 2500 RPM, the car was not getting no power at all. i had a guy tell me that the engine mayh be blown and the apex seals in the rotors may have been shot. not for the past 3 days, the car will not crank up at all. it'll roll over, and try to start, but it wont start at all. and that has been for 3 days now!

sounds like a sensor problem. maybe the engine is flooding itself. check codes. most likely causes are the water thermo sensor or the tps.

I'm gonna take a stab at it and say your leading ignitor died. Swap it out with your trailing and see if that helps at all. did you hear any pop or other sounds before you lost power? As for the starting problems now maybe its flooded. Check your plugs to see if they are wet with gas or not. If they're wet then its not your fuel pump at least.
