I Just Got My GSL-SE!
I Just Got My GSL-SE!
Man, this is a fun car. No rust, pulls EXTREMELY hard to buzzer, mmm. I like this thing a lot. 1984 GSL-SE, every option, all the original papers (warranty notices, brochures, etc) and it is clean, clean, clean besides one dent in the hood. 105k original miles on the original engine. I bought this from the first owner, and even have the papers (excluding bill of sale) from when he bought it. The car is pristine. The only downsides are there's a dent in the hood, and the power antenna doesn't raise. No biggie. But this is a GREAT car!!!! I love this thing.

Oh, and I paid $2000 for it.

Congrats on picking up a sweet one owner SE. The 1st thing I would do is get underneath it and start looking for rust and stop it it in it's tracks. Preservation and prevention is the key when owning/operating an FB in the rust belt areas of the country.

Of the 2 spare 1st gens on hand, one is getting prepped for a Canadian member, the other is a running spare for when I give up the 2nd gen as a DD and need a sensible 1st gen DD when I don't want to drive the widebody.

Needs more PAR! LOL! congrads man. I hope you enjoy her. I remember when i bought my first SE i thought it was a ugly car but I just wanted to race it, but as soon as I sat down and felt the interior I was hooked! Thats why i bought another after my first one. Couldn't resist! I'll take you for a spin in mine if you come down to Ky this year and autocross some.
FCs are OK. I've been wanting a 91 vert and finally found a sweetheart in excellent shape for a good price and the only thing that kept me from jumping ASAP was 'cause I have 5 vehicles already. If I see it tomorrow AM I'll buy it anyhow. *sigh* What is it about rotarys?

I'm a believer!
After my first drive last night, I walked into the house after putting it into the garage, said to my mom with a huge smile and my eyes wide with excitement: "THANK YOU, GOD!!!!" This car is just a rush. My muscle car buddy was just amazed at the smoothness and the acceleration from an engine five times smaller than his (1993 Z28 LT1). Everyone seems to like the buzzer too. I am just so happy right now. A true RX-7 that I can drive (my 85 is a non-runner at the moment) is one heck of a daily driver. Don't worry, it will probably be in the garage 95% of the time. A daily driver, but everything is so close like work and school that I can walk to or I can borrow my parent's car to get to a friends house. I have minimal plans for it at this point, just a tuneup (ordered the parts earlier) and possibly a full racing beat exhaust or some suspension upgrades. The car still feels pretty solid for an 84. All in all, I love the car and am so thankful I found the FB, then found this car. I hope I can have many long, fun, fast years ahead of me with this car!
if only you had a better camera ... you should try to borrow one ... looks really clean though ... who spotted the new technology that he's already got int there ( AKA ipod shuffle with cassette adapter
) lol gl with the car.

wow super good find man hope she works out well for you, as a mater of fact im going to start a search for a gsl se next month (income tax woo hoo!!!). man that thing is smooth.
like i said on ohiorotaries, awesome car!!! very nice looking and i'm glad that you have the car. whats the story on it? how did you find it? if you want to keep the car rust free, don't drive it on the salty roads here in ohio. it'll kill your exterior quick!
I'm guessing that your leak could be from the oil cooler lines. When i first got my SE i drove it for a week or so and then both lines started leaking like a sieve. The SS lines from Mazdatrix were/ are awesome. Man, i love my SE. Good score...
