I have a serious issue ( about clutch )
Well driving home last night i noticed my clutch felt weird. it felt like there was air in the lines. but i got home and went to sleep after looking in my book about the car. woke up went outside and pushed in the clutch and it would go down and then down some more. then it would stick to the floor. like how it feels when your bleeding brakes. to make things worse i think my starter went out. cause i went to start it and it started to turn over ( its cold here in the mornings ) 2nd time around it didn't even turn just the radio came on. my dad said it was prolly the cylinders or clutch or something bout being binded. I figured id ask you guys before i tore into my transmission.
hope you can help, because i really have no other way to work.

like everyone else said, it is your slave. i just bought a new one and bled my clutch system while i was at it. it is recommended to change the master cylinder and slave cylinder at the same time but if your mc is fairly new it should be ok.
as for your car not starting, check your battery terminals first. then check your connections from the battery to the starter. if there is corrosion or a weak contact, it makes it hard for your car to start. take a wire brush and brush it off.
good luck!

mine was the master, I only had a little bit to swap out my slave and master, and I noticed the spot where it meets the body on the inside of the car was a little wet, so I picked it first, and i was right. I still have the slave, just waiting for a day when I'm bored to go swap it. I'd suggest grabbing a light, and feeling that lil bushing in there for any brake fluid, make sure u clean it up good after, brake fluid is nasty stuff.

you should take somethings with a little weight and tap the starter, sometimes they seize and a couple good taps loosens it up and it might start.. I've had to do that with mine before i replaced it

Clean the posts on the battery and the cables. If that does not help then take the battery down to one of the local auto parts places and have it tested.
To those stating that it was the slave cylinder. Don't always assume. It's easy enough to pull back the boot on the slave cylinder and see if it is wet. If it is then you know that it is bad.
Even though it is recommended to replace both slave and master, a member may not have enough money for both. :-)

just a note to whoever has an 83 not sure what other years are exact with the 83 but the slave and the master cylinder rebuild kits are the same for both on the 83 also if you look inside the master resivouir and see any kind of metal flake or the fluid is dark brown like old oil then the whole system needs to be flushed reason is cause the metal flake will damage the new rebuild kits and like any other fluid Brake fluid will break down and not compress like it does when its new this i have learned the hard way having to do both cause of not knowing i was told this by a tank mechanic and it does make sense also i found that after i did both of these about two months later because of the mileage on my car that the pilot bearing went out due to the new harder force upon the clutch from changing the fluids and the master and slave hope this helps As far as the motor not turnning over ide try everything these guys are telling also another way to tell if its the Master is to pull the carpet back under the driver side of the car you might be able to see if there is brake fluid seeping throught the hole where the master comes through the fire wall at
