so you had some bad cable to start with.

my electrical instructor always says, "test, don't guess" because you will be farther ahead if you know what's wrong before you go fixing other things.

Below the sight glass on both sides of the carb, you will see two good sized bolts. Remove those, and then reach inside with a screwdriver and loosen (do not remove) the jets. Then, reach in with a wooden toothpick, jam it into the jet, and use that to remove the jet so that you don't drop it. Installation is the reverse. I did this recently, and it worked pretty slick.

Otherwise, just pull the top half of the carb off and do it the old fashioned way but then you'll need some gaskets.

you're right, and everyone who has told me that i should be testing is right, i just dont have the resources to do that. first off, i dont have the equipment, and if i did, i dont know how to use it, ive never been trained and dont have any experience so im trying to make do with what i know.

Sounds like excuses. You could have bought the tools for a fraction of what you spent on failed trial-and-error replacement parts. We told you exactly how to use the tools.

If you expect one of us to wave a magic wand and solve your car problems you're out of luck. None of us is a magician.

dude, i have not spent a dime on replacement parts. i dont understand what part of that your not getting? and like i said you're right, if i could afford those diagnostic tools, i would use them, you must not realize how truely broke i am. and im not saying that i expect you to do it for me. im just saying that the electrical system is my worst area and i dont have any experience with those tools.

Perfect_circle is a great guy, who has helped me out on several occasions in the past. He is young, and trying to get through college, and doesn't have a lot of resources other than a parts car to work with.

Considering the tools he had at hand, I'd say he's done pretty well for himself. And, after all, he has admitted that testing rather than replacing parts makes more sense when that is an option. I don't see any reason to argue over it...
