i have never seen this...

Last week i was getting ready to leave to go to the beach, As a theft deterent i pulled the coil wire. When i was under the hood i noticed that the dis. cap was melted around the L1 nipple.. i took it off and found that it not only melted the plastic but it melted the metal in there.. same with the plug wire.. rubber melted, plastic melted.. i have never seen this happen before!! any ideas??? thanks guys!

It is melted because the spark is arcing due to a poor connection/contact/high resistance.

Not a big deal just replace the dis. cap and the coil/spark wires.
