Angry I HATE people that cant drive in snow!!!

Well, coming home from work at 10:15 (best buy techs 0wn j00)... on upper mountian ave. It's snowing, there's a little on the roads, nice and horrid to drive in.... sliding around but keeping it under control.

i come around the turn right past mountianside park heading south, and there are headlights in my lane!!! some ******* out of control. I immediatly drop the shifter back to 2nd to help slow me down, and ease onto the brakes and try to get into the other lane in time, i make it, but the car's front tires didnt wanna hold on, and the back end was all over the place... so i hit a curb with the drivers side front tire at about 5-10mph

backed the car down, drove away... car still goes down the road straight, still perfectly aligned.

well, i'm off to STS tomorrow for a new tire and i'm gonna have to dig out that spare rally i have in the garage for now.

******* people, learn how to drive your piece of **** front wheel drive cars in the snow.... IT"S NOT THAT HARD!... try driving my car.

yea, I don't see the big deal with winter driving, it takes more concentration and a little thinking ahead like getting momentum for hills all that ****, but its not really too bad, even with RWD, I haven't gottn stuck (for long)

sooo true. Its pretty sad. I can think of maybe one person other than myself who actually thinks about what they are doing when driving and who actually plans out the drive when its really bad out. Oh well, hopefully those asses will smash into some trees and not my car.

Anti-tailgater tip: let the guy get close, then touch your brakes. Not hard enough to let him hit you, just enough to give him an 'oh, ****!' moment.

Usually after 2 or 3 times in a block or so he gets the hint and backs off or changes lanes.

Another way to really annoy tailgaters is to drive really slowly.... Of course, who wants to do that?

i always read about people storing the rx7s away for the winter..
hows this work in snowy countries??

everyone puts their RWD cars away and pulls out their slow ones???

i'm from australia so ive only seen snow like 3 times in my life time and had to drive hours to see it too.

Winter cars don't have to be slow.... Mine is a well-modified WRX.

haha... I have rear red fog lights on my Audi, they come in real handy for that. Just hit a switch and all of a sudden they backed off. Works like a charm.

You have no idea what you're missing. If you've never slid across a parking lot sideways at 60mph in 2 feet of powder, you've never really lived.

I know I can't drive to well in the snow even in my AWD suby. And I'm sure alot of other dick can't drive worth a damn on a dry sunny day much less with snow on the road. So I just stay my happy *** off the road if I can. The problem is always the other person, like was said befor, people don't think ahead of time, so when something happens they panic.

What I do to **** off tail gaters? I stop in the middle of the road if I don't see anyone behind them. Or I'll flash my brake lights at 'em and they get the point after a while.

Ive NEVER been stuck...Just temporarily immobilized .

I do that .

My favorite thing to do is to drive really slow when the brake tapping doesnt get the picture to them. The other day I slowed to 20 in a 45 cause he was pissing me off so much. Then, right as they pull out to pass you (2 lane road, one lane each way), drop it in 2nd and floor it and keep him behind you

I keep a 3D Mag light between my seat and the center console .

Hell, I dont care if theres people behind them or not...Im an *** . Ive even done it with a cop right by me, I just claimed I was having car troubles and trying to get it off the road. He didnt even care. I think he knew what I was really doing...Oh well .

I almost got hit by some *** who didnt think to slow down a bit earlier for a red light. I was going through the intersection as i had green and looked over and saw him comming and I had to swerve into the on comming lane (luckly it was empty), to not get hit as he slid....

And about thinking ahead I have to think about every turn in take in my audi in winter. As it's not quattro and is quite *** happy. It will slide at 5mph I have gotten quite good at "powersliding" it....

Try an Interstate interchange sideways at 65-75mph

You don't need power if you have SNOW! 85hp was more than plentiful for my Suby.

And then there was my first car... a lumpy-cammed 429 in a 5000lb Ford luxocoupe. Picture said vehicle at 70mph on roads covered with wedding-cake fresh snow, steering mostly with the rear wheels... Also picture said vehicle requiring 2 blocks to get up to 35mph because traction was simply nonexistent...

Oddly enough, I've put more miles on my first RX-7 than my Subaru and Ford combined, yet I rarely drove the RX-7 nearly as slideways as I did either one of those cars. Hmm.

What year was your Sube'? My friend has an '86 GL Wagon, 5 speed, that thing is soo much fun in the winter... and it's only worth like $200, so it's not a big deal if you put the rusting-completely-out, ~75HP (blown valves like mad), bend fendered beast in the ditch a couple times.... it's already been done!

His parents owned it since new, put 330,000km on it, gave it to their son, he's driven the **** out of it for the last 30,000km, and it's still going... sorta strong... haha

biggest part replaced - fuel pump... haha
