I gonna beat the **** outa my car, might as well put a V8 cause rotary's r pissing me

My damn car sucks ***, I hate not knowing whats wrong with the fucken rotary. I am sick of the fucken engine/car fucken up. OK Calm down, Calm down.....whew... deep breaths......whew..... ok heres what happen: I took out my plugs out and turned it over, put'em back in, and it started right up. Question: When I pulled my choke out it stayed out until it warmed up!!! Is that good or bad???? Well it pulled aroung my driveway, after it warmed up, and then shut it off. Came back after a little while, and it was still warm, so I played with it some more, and when I went to park it, I idled it down. It idled and I let it sit ideling for a minute, and it started being rough and wanting to die so I touch the gas it reved up to 1500, and it started clicking like a noisy lifter(with severe vibration), then it started to die so I pump the gas and kept it alive a few more seconds. It died but started right up, and died again. So I went inside for 2-3 minutes went back out swapped the coil wire with each outher and it started back up. Then I went and tested it for 5 min, when going backwards with it at 1500 rpm and easing on the clutch it just stalled. I was like WTF is up with this POS. Well It started back up and then did the "noisy viberating thing", when I floored(well almost) it wouldnt get over 2200 RPM, and after about 3 seconds of it died and wouldnt start. Its not a fuel problem unless its the carb. Could the igniter or coils be getting to hot??? It acts as if something is overhesting causing it to die. What the **** is it. Some one come over and fix it for me before I decide to put a 327 into it. (only because I dont know, or understand the rotary, no mater how hard I try. I think its because all the emmision ****. who know? THANKS LATERZ,
Andrew

Whatever the problem is, I doubt it's related to the fact that it's a rotary. Rotaries are engines just like anything else, and any engine needs proper spark and fuel.

Yes, by the way, the choke is supposed to stay pulled out until the engine warms up.

Maybe

Well can I take all the emmision crap off, without tearing into my engine? Then maybe I can understand the rotary. I love my car tooo much, and I will never put a V8 in it because then nobody could help me like you people on this board! If I remove all emmisions, and swap over to direct fore ignition using all the 81-85 12a ignition stuff Maybe I cna make it stay running? Who know? If I rank all the emmission ****, can I leave the carb, or do I have the plug some things, or what? THANKS L:ATERZ.

hello

have you taken the dizzy out recently. loud popping noise coming from the intake track (carby) usaully mean predetonatin. It sounds like you have the plug wires *** backwards and that you are igniting the incoming mixture. blah blah. T=top=trailing & L=lower=leading. Yes the dizzy cap has the letters also. i fucked up my timing twice, once with my MSD install, and a second time not stabing the dizzy correctly. good luck.
also ATF the bitch you fucked up some seals messin with your plug config.

Check your carb first

Maybe something in pipes? Some debris in carb?

I would say you messed up the wires as well. Most "new" problems are related to the last repair.... Check for a cloged Cat Converter too. I have 3 RX-7's and all lost the main Cat in the past 6 months and cause rough running problems w/ all of them. Don't hate the rotary, it's a wonderful thing!

Very possibly a bad vacuum leak. Otherwise check the compression, I don't like the way it is acting. The cat is a likely suspect too.

Lets cut the cat off and take all emmisions out and put on direct a direct fire ingnition using all 81-85 12a ignition crap. someone have a pic of what it should look like after all the emmsiions is taken off? What parts should I take off? Leaving an open cat, would that catch something on fire? LATERZ,
Andrew

My engine looks nothing like this now. Sure came a long way the past year...

Right after yanking the solenoids off, the plugs were still there.

if you have a '79 or an '80, it does not have a converter.

Actually they weigh 90lb But they work SOOOOO GOOOD. Unless you remove the air pump, then they cave in internally and act like a clgoged cat. Hmm....

Well, it's not an ignition problem because you said it was running good at first. 10 bucks says the carby was flooding. Probably some crap caught in the needle and seat. Next time open the air cleaner and see if there's fuel pouring into the carb throats.
