I found an electrical box looking thing under my driver side seat...

I was taking my seats out to put new upholstry on them and I found a black box

under my driver seat, there are two black plugs that arent pluged into eachother

when they should be, and there is a white plug stuck to the top of the box that is

pluged in, but all the wires are snipped off of the plug on the left side when leaning

into the car, what is this for? Thanks in advance

That is the car's black box. In the event of a crash or accident, it records all the pertinent data like how fast you were going, engine rpms, lateral g force, wind velocity and time of the day.

It's an amp, the other one is under the passenger side bin. Under the drivers side bin is the cruise control box. I guess they ran out of places to hide stuff in plain sight and decided to make it more challenging, think Easter egg hunt.

Well considering its my first car and Im 17 Im not too embaressed, rather, maybe

when you answer someones question with a false answer maybe you should be

embarresed. I found out what it was anyway, and also that there is a computer in

the driver side bin under the carpet. Maybe I wont attempt to use this site for help

anymore.

Sorry, we do have our fair share of clowns, but hang in there. You will generally get the answer you need.

your computer now days records all that, when we hook it up to check codes sensor all that. itll show if youve ever toped out your speed limiter.

it is so it voids the warrenty if so. but we dont tell the dealership.

if you go to a dealership with it like that. theyre not gonna do it,

I live on the other side of that bridge, and then south west. They used to have races

down there near the beaches.

Do you need a tissue?

If you can't take a joke the internet really ain't the best place for ya, son. You got the info you needed in a timely fashion, I don't see any particular reason to bitch.

I realize it was a joke, and I wasnt crying or "bitching". All I was saying was that I asked a question hoping to get a response, and then he told me something that was wrong, yes it was funny, but I just didnt see why people kept talking about how embaressing it was, and as if I was stupid. Im sorry I dont know ever detail of a 20+ year old car, that is why I asked the question. And also I realize that this is the internet, which is why I was expecting someone to come and try and start an argument about something I said.

C'mon dude, no hard feelings. I normally answer to the best of my very limited knowledge, but every now and then I can't help it and the clown inside gets the best of me.

You mentioned your car not working properly. What are the symptoms? maybe the problem can be pinpointed and handled easily.

P.S. A word of advice: Take out the "Mods: Only a leather shiftboot and a different **** at the moment.." out of your signature. That ain't no mod.

That's the first I've heard of it.

I doubt that Jon or Carl would like a cranky son of a bitch like me running around with moderator powers.

Anyhoo, now that I've provoked the young'uns and stirred the pot, I'll be on my merry way.
