Question I dont know if this has been answered before??

All right, a friend of mine told me that "1st gen's are great because you don't have to run an air filter on it, just the bare carb". I was kinda skeptical because as you all know, I dont know crap about rx7 facts AND this is my first rotary engine experince lol (that was gay). He has owned a 1st gen before and he told me he ran it with now air filter the entire time he owned it, I dont know wether to believe him or not because I didn't know him back then so I'll rather ask you dudes. Is it safe running the bare carb with no air filter??

while it will run with no filter you'll foul plugs sooner from junk getting in there, not to mention what would happen if something larger fell down there. Run it with the filter.

Actually, if you don't mind replacing your engine more often (probably much more often) you should run without an air cleaner.

More performance!!
