Put that engine in a Ranger or something more worthwhile. I have agree, a Pinto is just too ugly.

Are you just tryng to make the biggest sleeper EVAR!?
A Pinto is the lightest car I can find that the 2.3 bolts into with no/minimal fab work.

Now you know why I did not really feel like telling anyone what I am doing.

I have the greatest confidence yours would be faster than 90% of the cars here and probably still handle the twisty's...

I'm too tame to be bombing the twisties, I don't like hitting trees. It hurts. As long as I can take a turn at moderate speed without understeering right off the corner, I'm set.

PS, I like your sig about the Chevy/Pontiac thing.

2.3's are fairly light, cheap as dirt and tough as nails.
And getting 300hp at the wheels with one can be had pretty easy with all the stock parts and last next to for ever. Then just add a litle shot of nitrous and have one scary cheap ride.

side..

The drone of these cars is weak in comparison to the exhaust note of the 7...and, it does have a near 50-50 weight balance...a guy i know surprised the **** out of the Datsun Z club with his, to say the least.

But, a pinto? Dude!

Sure beats putting a 2.3 in a 7 and ******* up the balance, when you can keep the 2.3 in a car that it came in that handles well and theres no swapping involved. Of course...merkurs do not come with T5's like the thunderbird...or the intercooler...or the computer, but thats the fun of it!!!!!!!!!

And there are european cossies that share the same body, so you can get some mean OEM body kits for it.

So how do you explain to people like me that you put a piston engine in a Rotary Experiment 7? I mean, shouldnt it have rotars in it?

Like I tell other people, when you start bankrolling my projects, I'll do what you want. Until then I will waste my money any way I deem necessary.

Contact the Panasport to find a local dealer if you want to buy them new... if you're looking for used, just keep your eyes open in the 'For Sale' section of the forum, www.thepartstrader.com and e-bay
