Talking Howdy, RX7 newbie here.

Hey there. I just picked up a remarkably clean FB for $100 bucks. 85 w/ 12A/auto. So today I pick up an 87 GXL w/ manual

I guess that makes me a new owner

Anyway, i'm going to be swapping the 13B and trans into the 85, and I have found alot of info on the boards here about what i will need to do this. I'll also be stripping the GXL in the next few weeks, so i'll have a boatload of parts for sale (i'll post in the right forum when i get them all pulled and ready to go).

Needless to say, just trying to have a good 1st post

Welcome to the forum.
If you really want to do a really great 1st thread do a step by step tutorial on your swap when you do it. Especially the wiring in of the ECU. That way we can archive it and others can have a complete thread to refer to in the future. :-)
Pictures would be great also.

I will most definately see about getting a writeup of some sort, i dunno about pics though, i dont have a camera thats worth a crap right now. The swap isnt going to happen for at least a few weeks, i have to cannibalize the GXL and send the carcass out for scrap (and sell off all the stuff i dont need)

Howdy! The swap really isn't that hard to do at all. I did it and I had never done anything that big before. Only issue is mounting brackets for the transmission, and that isn't hard really. A drill and a hacksaw will do it for you.
