Balance has been restored....a one party government is never a good thing. It was the only reason I didn't vote for Bush in 2000...he seemed like a decent guy as Texas Governor (I voted for him, then, too...), but there was no way I could see any good coming from one party have control of the Hill, the Senate and the Presidency and, hoo-boy, was I ever right on that one......it's just sad that a big chunk of the 59,000,000 'wool-over-my-eyes' crowd fell for Rove's "Scary Kerry" BS campaign and put Bush back in office in 2004. I will never understand why it had to get this bad before people would stop denying the obvious about the New Republican Guard, er Party. This is NOT Ronald Reagan's Republican Party by a long shot.

I try to stay out of political discussions, no one is ever right, no one is ever wrong, it's simply one's viewpoint. What I did find interesting is that when one party had controll of both the executive and legislative branches, very little was accomplished in passing critical bills or addressing important issues.

Hopefully the 2 parties will now try to work together for 'We the People", instead of the out of hand posturing, do nothing bs that has been going on.

Absolutely true, Troch. Did you know that our current congress logs fewer work hours than the infamous "Do-Nothing Congress" of the early 1900s? wtf are we paying them for?

Don't believe that, maihn...if it hadn't been for a lot of folks constantly voting even though it looked pointless, the Democrats would've never gotten control of the Senate back from the Republican Guard. I felt the same way as you in 2004, unable to believe it was even close, but I voted in this cycle, nonetheless. As close as Virginia was, every vote counted. You never know for sure when it's going to count the most, so keep on voting and vote your conscious, yer a good guy, don't let it get to you...your vote does count and it can make a difference...
