How to set idle RPM and Idle Mixture 83 RX7?
I'm reading te Haynes book and it says get the car hot , idle at 2000 for 3 minutes, plug up a few vacuum lines and turn Idle Air screw to get engine at 750 rpm. then turn mixture screw till engine stumbles and turn it out a 1/2 turn or so.
Why does it not say adjust with the throttle cable? Since I tore the Carb apart to rebuild, I doubt any of my thottle cablers are exactly set were the should be. SC

Turn the idle screw in all the way, then back it out 1.5 turns. Start your adjusting from there backing out in small increments (start with 1/2 or 1/4 turns).
If you google search you can find the Carb. manual which details the entire procedure. PM me if you have any more questions.

I think I'm getting closer.. The mixture hole is filled with epoxy I think. I thought the air screw was the mixture screw, I Pluged up a idle compensation hose and got the rpm to750 . Went for a ride. I think it helped a lot. Smooth acceleration. When I got back the idle was back at 1200,. I don't know what is up now
