Also, am I suppose to replace the seals and stuff if I were to change the ring and pinion? Racing beat said this on their site "When replacing the pinion in any differential, it is wise to replace the pinion bearings, locknut and seal, and mandatory to change the crush tube."

Airflow is my life
Should be the same as on the 7. Remove the carrier assembly and then u can unbolt the gear. On the sides of the carrier there are spline type nuts that you back out, then the bearing caps can come off. Look at the FSM for the 7.
I would replace the seal and the crush tube. If the bearings and nut are ok I would reuse them. Setting the pinion drag and backlash requires special tools or you will have a short lived new gear. Review the FSM to see how the procedure is performed.
Tech Tip: keep the spacer/washer that came with the housing that your using. They are to make up for variations in housing mfg., not pinion differences.
