How to remove idle mixture limit cap?

Hi, can I get that cap off the mixture screw without removing the carb? I don't want to just attack it with a pliers or screwdriver. Standard Nikki carb.
Thanks.

You want to get the blade of the screwdriver in between the carb body and the base of the cap, then give it a twist. Use a large screwdriver to give plenty of leverage with a fairly sharp blade so that you can wedge it between the carb body and cap. Once you have loosened the cap up you should be able to grab it with a pair of pliers or vice grips and wiggle it off.

Some might be a little more stuck than others but it should come off. Just be careful not to twist the cap too far off it's axis or you could bend the mixture adjust screw.

Good luck!
