Are you swapping the entire rear end (with disks)?
If so you need to change the rear section of the cables. There is a connection just in front of where it passes through the frame.

1st to 3rd is correct. One each side the cable passes through the chassis frame. A clevis and pin join the cables here. They are probably corroded and be a bitch to take apart. The exhaust shields don't help access to on the right side either.
Just got to take your time and deal with it!

I took off the thing that right before it went through the frame and the end of the pin is stuck on that side with the wire going into my drum brake. and the other side of the wire is just hanging on the other side of my chasis where it goes through it

I just did this exact swap. My new rearend came with cables, so I just cut those *******. If you can't cut them, try disconnecting them up by your catalytic. They attach to the rest of the ebrake line about 2 feet from the rear end... It's just a little pin with a cotter pin I think.... I haven't attached my new ones yet, but I'm 90% sure it's just a cotter pin.
