Hey everyone! I need help. The previous owner of my 1985 Gsl-se cut the wires and connections to my oem clarion radio to replace it with an aftermarket system. I’d like to get the original radio back in the car but am having trouble figuring out which wires go to what. And yes I have looked up diagrams and schematics and printed them off. It still is quite confusing and wondered if anyone on here has done the same thing or can offer any help. Thanks
I can offer some help. The first place to start would be the speaker connectors/wires. There are two four pin connectors, one for the front speakers and one for the rear. I can see the wires for each of these connectors. They are blue with different colored traces. In your first pic, I believe the ones with the red barrel connectors are the front and the rear a have the clear blueish. These colors can be validated via the wiring diagram.
You will need to either get these connectors or use spade connectors to make the connection to the radio itself. See if you can get this far and we can continue.
I see you have a GSL-SE so you "should" have the top-of-the-line complete radio. Before going to far, if you do not have the joystick and the amps in the rear bin area, then this is all for nothing. Take the driver's side rear bin out and see if the two amps are secured to the front wall of the bin support.

I did check and the joystick and connections are still there. I will see if the amps are in their place but if not I already bought oem replacement ones along with all the wiring so worst case senario I just have to re-wire them in the car. I will start there though and see what I come up with. I appreciate your comment and will definitely get back in touch if you don’t mind providing some extra advice when I get to the next step…
