this is how my 1984 glsse idles. IT oscilates about 50-100k. Note the position of my switch from hell. It allowst the secondary ports to open past 5000 rpm. The exhaust is 2.5" strait pipe to flowmaster xl muffler. Is this how its supposed to idle or what do i need to do to correct this. Thanks

My car loped like a bridgeport when I made by block off plate and put it on. I guess it had a leak there, so I put my ACV back on and it went away. I made another block off plate with a thicker aluminum piece with a new gasket and it was running fine after. You might have some sort of intake leak. Sounds good though. I was going to leave mines like that, but it backfired a bit so I decided to change it. That was my experience with the SE idle.

 

Sounds great. Next time, set the camera on the gound near the exhaust exit, start it, let it idle a bit and do a bit of free revving. Does almost sound like it has some porting.
